Now that the election is over, it's time for all of us to come together!

Hi Everyone!

Well here we are, the day after election.  So of us are elated and some of us are not.  However, the true power of a great democracy is that we all have the right to choose our Presidents.

Most people that know me know I was against Obama from day one.  I am not a fan of his policies at all.  However, he is now going to be our next President and I woke up this morning knowing I don't have any other choice but to be the happy person I am and go on.  Will this be a mistake?  I don't know.  Did people see something that I missed?  Maybe.

In the end, if we don't start acting as a united country with centrist goals, then we will fail as a society.  All of our problems are easily fixed.  We have some of the smartest people in the world as citizens of the United States.  I have always and will always believe that our system will protect us from the possible evils of an politician.  It hasn't been a great system so far, but it has certainly been a good system.  There is not a country or place (maybe Figi) that I would want to call home.

So as we move into this next phase of our country, let's try to put the past year of blame and tension behind us and let's make our country great!  We all have the power to choose.  You can choose to be ticked off everyone or you can choose to contribute.  I choose to contribute!

Now go out there, give your neighbor a hug regardless of which side of the isle they believe andd let's move on!

Good for you....let's all move on.  We do indeed have the power to fix many of the problems that we need to....mostly the economy. Working together with the common good for our country is what it's all about.

Mitch,

I totally agree!  I would not have made my most recent post had I read yours already!  Thanks

I am hoping for the same thing.  We have much more in common than we have differences.  I hope we can get beyond the horrible divisiveness of President Bush and be able to accomplish common goals of all Americans.
